To Our Oliver’s Friends:
We are going into our 5th year at Oliver’s Wine Bar! In 2014 during the early phases of creating Oliver’s we made it our 3-5-year goal to establish a gathering place in the heart of downtown that is both needed and wanted. It is now time to look for someone to continue and grow the business, new owners who have the talent, knowledge and experience to tap into the amazing unlimited potential we see but never intended to pursue ourselves in the scope of us operating the business.
Purchasing, renovating this building, and creating a successful business has been, from the beginning, part of our pre-retirement plan. We will retain ownership of the building including one of the apartments above Oliver’s, so you will still see us out and about in Red Wing.
We moved to Red Wing from Minneapolis almost 21 years ago. During this time we purchased and renovated six buildings in the downtown district, created, owned and operated four businesses, and purchased and renovated two homes. We are proud of our many accomplishments in Red Wing and we are so excited for what lies ahead of us: new adventures and professional journeys, new experiences and learning, travel, and most importantly right now, time to reconnect with family and friends.
We are so thankful to our Red Wing community for the many adventures and friendships during the past 21 years. Thank you for the support of our businesses and always welcoming us to this community. We can’t begin to express our appreciation to our wonderful staff for caring about Oliver’s, and for their part in making our business a well-loved and special place in downtown.
The time has come for us to start the process of searching for the perfect fit to continue the business we have created. Oliver’s is well-established—a turnkey opportunity with a fully-trained staff—and we will assist the new owners to ensure a successful transition.
